Maintain strict vigil against Covid: CM
Yogi says testing should be optimised and contact tracing and surveillance system should also remain effective
LUCKNOW : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has said all arrangements made to check the Covid-19 should continue to ensure that the state’s success in the field continues. He also said a strict vigil with regard to the pandemic should be maintained as any laxity could prove costlier.
Yogi issued these instructions while reviewing the Covid-19 situation in the state at a high-level meeting at his Lok Bhawan office here on Friday. He further said all arrangements made for protection against and treatment of Covid-19 should remain up to the mark. The CM said testing should be optimised and contact tracing and surveillance system should also remain effective.
He said arrangements made in Covid-19 hospitals should also remain up to the mark. He said people should be consistently educated about measures for protection against the pandemic. The CM enquired about the work being done for Covid-19 vaccination. He said immunisation of health workers and corona frontline workers should
be carried out as per the order set for them.
Yogi said mop up round for the health workers should be carried out on February 15. He said Uttar Pradesh was the first state to carry out more than 5 lakh vaccinations. He said proposals relating to announcements made in the union budget for 2021-2022 about health sector should be prepared. He said extensive use of technology in Covid period had helped in bringing about an improvement in providing services and relief to people.
Yogi said effective action should be taken to use technology to strengthen the health services.Moreover, he said work on
construction of new medical colleges should be expedited. He said a policy should be worked out about setting up medical colleges in 16 districts which have no medical colleges.
‘Gear up for new session in all institutions’
The chief minister said work should begin on starting new academic session in all the educational institutions in the state in accordance with the union government’s guidelines.
He said academic classes in secondary and higher educational institutions should begin first while the classes for other standards should commence thereafter.
