GOVT FINALISES FIRM FOR DEVELOPING AYODHYA

LUCKNOW : The state government on Tuesday finalised LEA Associates South Asia Pvt Ltd, India, to prepare an integrated infrastruc­ture plan for developmen­t of Ayodhya. Along with it, L & T Infra Engineerin­g and CP Kukreja Architects will also prepare the vision, implementa­tion strategy and integrated infrastruc­ture plan for Ayodhya.

LEA Associates South Asia Pvt Ltd. (LASA), India, an operating company of the LEA Group, Canada, is one of the leading Indian consultanc­y firms in the area of infrastruc­ture developmen­t and management. It has executed several infrastruc­ture projects in India.

The Ayodhya Developmen­t Authority had invited global tenders for the project in which seven companies had applied. After various process of scrutiny based on quality and costbased selection, three companies were selected for the final around.

At a meeting on Tuesday, the Housing Developmen­t Board finalised the LEA Associates’ bid on the basis of quality and cost offered by the company.

Deepak Kumar, principal secretary, housing and urban developmen­t, KV Raju, economic advisor to the chief minister, Ajay Chauhan, housing commission­er and Vishal Singh, vice chairman, Ayodhya Developmen­t Authority, were present at the meeting.

The selected agency will have to design two developmen­t modules for Ayodhya among other projects. The first will be for developmen­t of Ayodhya covering around 35 sq km. In this model, new Ayodhya project will have a prominent place.

The second module covering around 194 sq km will be related to developmen­t of religious places in and round Ayodhya.

It will be designed for developmen­t of religious places in 84 kosi parikrama marg in Ayodhya. The 84 kosi parikrama covers Ayodhya, Barabanki, Ambedkar Nagar, Gonda and Basti districts. It will also incorporat­e a traffic plan covering these religious places for convenienc­e of devotees.
