GOVT FINALISES FIRM FOR DEVELOPING AYODHYA
LUCKNOW : The state government on Tuesday finalised LEA Associates South Asia Pvt Ltd, India, to prepare an integrated infrastructure plan for development of Ayodhya. Along with it, L & T Infra Engineering and CP Kukreja Architects will also prepare the vision, implementation strategy and integrated infrastructure plan for Ayodhya.
LEA Associates South Asia Pvt Ltd. (LASA), India, an operating company of the LEA Group, Canada, is one of the leading Indian consultancy firms in the area of infrastructure development and management. It has executed several infrastructure projects in India.
The Ayodhya Development Authority had invited global tenders for the project in which seven companies had applied. After various process of scrutiny based on quality and costbased selection, three companies were selected for the final around.
At a meeting on Tuesday, the Housing Development Board finalised the LEA Associates’ bid on the basis of quality and cost offered by the company.
Deepak Kumar, principal secretary, housing and urban development, KV Raju, economic advisor to the chief minister, Ajay Chauhan, housing commissioner and Vishal Singh, vice chairman, Ayodhya Development Authority, were present at the meeting.
The selected agency will have to design two development modules for Ayodhya among other projects. The first will be for development of Ayodhya covering around 35 sq km. In this model, new Ayodhya project will have a prominent place.
The second module covering around 194 sq km will be related to development of religious places in and round Ayodhya.
It will be designed for development of religious places in 84 kosi parikrama marg in Ayodhya. The 84 kosi parikrama covers Ayodhya, Barabanki, Ambedkar Nagar, Gonda and Basti districts. It will also incorporate a traffic plan covering these religious places for convenience of devotees.
