PRAYAGRAJ : The Allahabad high court has asked the state government counsel to apprise it as to why police force was not being provided by the Ghaziabad district administration to UppalChadha Hi-Tech Developer to complete the remaining work in Wave City project, acquired under Hi-Tech City Township policy.

The high court bench, comprising justice NA Moonis and justice Dinesh Pathak, passed the order on a petition by the developer on February 9.

During the hearing, counsel for the state government apprised the court about the Ghaziabad district administration’s response to queries posed by the court earlier in the matter.

The bench, after going through the response, observed, “We are not satisfied with the explanations submitted by the authorities as no cogent and convincing reason has been given for non-redressal of the grievance of the petitioner for providing security to carry out development work, which is near completion.”

The petitioner had sought directions to the authorities to take action in accordance with law against all those miscreants and land mafias who are not allowing the petitioner’s company to carry development work on the land.

According to the petitioner company, on September 16, 2020 and November 24, 2020 it had moved representations before the authorities to take action and remove encroachment from the land but till date no action was taken.

The petitioner company had requested directions to the state government to provide necessary assistance to it, as well as the Ghaziabad Development Authority, to enable development on the land acquired for the Wave City project.

On January 13, 2021, the high court had asked the state government to apprise it about action taken to remove encroachment from part of the land in the Wave City project. The court has now fixed February 18 as the next date of hearing.
