PRAYAGRAJ: The District Inspectors of Schools (DIoSs) have finally provided the reports of the district committees on the objections registered against schools mentioned in the first list of exam centres released by the UP Board for conducting High School and Intermediate exams this year. The board authorities are now busy going through these reports after which the second tentative list of exam centres will be uploaded on the Board’s website by February 14.

The examinations of Class 10 and Class 12 are scheduled to begin on April 24, 2021 and the exams of Class 12 will conclude on May 12 while that of High School will end on May 10.

According to the revised programme released by the Board on January 21, all DIoSs were instructed to receive objections, if any, against the exam centres identified by the Board. The DIoSs were asked to weigh these objections, and resolve them, if possible, and send reports of the district committees based on these objections to the Board by February 9. The objections were to be resolved and after approval by the district committee, the tentative list was to be put up on the Board’s website.

“We have received the reports from all the DIoSs concerned and now we are working on preparing the second list of exam centres for conducting the upcoming exams”, said Divyakant Shukla, Board secretary.

While the UP Board is to release this list by February 14 on the website, if any person in any district is dissatisfied with the resolution of objections made by the district committee, by February 18, he or she can present their objections on the Board’s email ID www.upmspexamcentre@gmail.com.

These objections will be resolved at the level of the central assessment committee set up by the Board. The chairman of the council committee is chairman of the Board and director of secondary education, Vinay Kumar Pandey and the member secretary is Divyakant Shukla, secretary of the Board. The final list of centres will be released on Feb 22, resolving all objections received by email.

Disposal of objections has been delayed due to large scale disturbances at the district level during the determination of centres. There have been twice as many objections to the number of centres in each district. Sources said that in Prayagraj alone, there were around 600 objections whereas the number of exam centres for the board exams is 300 in the district.
