5,349 more frontliners vaccinated
62.71% of the day’s target was met at 48 vaccination centres and in 75 sessions
PRAYAGRAJ: Against the set target to vaccinate 8,545 frontline workers against Covid-19, merely 5,349 individuals (62.71 per cent) were administered the vaccine in Prayagraj on Thursday as part of the ongoing phase-2 of the exercise, informed district medical and health officials.
Rishi Sahai, ACMO (immunisation), overseeing the Covid-19 vaccination exercise in Prayagraj, said that the vaccination was undertaken at 48 vaccination centres which between them undertook a total of 75 vaccination sessions, including 26 at urban centres and 26 at rural.
Sahai said that on Friday, the district medical and health department would undertake vaccination drive for 3,121 health workers who are to be given their second and final shots of the Cobid-19 vaccine. These health workers had received their first shots on January 22. For this, vaccination will be undertaken at 42 centres, including 22 urban and 20 rural. Between them they would undertake a total of 75 vaccination sessions, he added.
Against the set target to vaccinate 6,537 health workers including the 425 who were to get their booster doses during the day in Prayagraj as part of the mop-up round, just 3,329 (50.92%) were administered the Covid-19 vaccine on Feb 15. Those vaccinated had included 404 individuals who received the first dose on January 16 and got their second and final shots on Feb 15. A total of 21 health workers who were to get the booster doses had failed to turn up at the respective centres including 11 who were out of the city, two who had informed that they were unwell and one who had tested Covid-19 positive.
