Eligible students of Abhyuday coaching scheme to get tablets

LUCKNOW : The state government will provide tablets to the students registered with its ambitious Abhyuday free coaching scheme, which provides guidance to youths preparing for competitiv­e exams.

Presenting the budget, finance minister Suresh Khanna said, “Under the scheme, the state government will provide tablets to students on the basis of their eligibilit­y so that they can prepare for various competitiv­e examinatio­ns through digital learning. Appropriat­e funds will be arranged in this regard.”

The scheme was rolled out at 18 divisional headquarte­rs on the Basant Panchami day. At the launch, chief minister Yogi Adityanath had said senior bureaucrat­s and police officers would guide students to crack UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and many other competitiv­e exams like JEE, NEET, as many of them could not afford expensive coaching classes.

Khanna said, “There is immense enthusiasm among the youth of the state for the free coaching scheme Mukhyamant­ri Abhyuday Yojana with a view to making the youth of the state successful in various competitiv­e examinatio­ns.”

He also said, “The Yogi government’s fifth budget has a special focus on youth.” According to the finance minister, the youth power and energy are strong carriers of the developmen­t of the society.

“We have given special attention to the all-round developmen­t of the youth section of the society. Our priority is to enhance the skills of the youth of the state so that they can make full use of employment opportunit­ies,” the finance minister said.

He also said the developmen­t of digital village would provide better connectivi­ty to the youths of the rural areas, so that they would be familiar with the global scenario of education and employment.

It has also been decided to develop and strengthen the infrastruc­ture in aided non-government secondary schools and government Sanskrit schools.

Poor students studying in Sanskrit schools would be provided free hostel and food facilities as per the Gurukul system.
