Budget historic, no section ignored: BJP
LUCKNOW: The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh welcomed the state budget as historic and said it would help realise the mission of ‘aatmanirbhar pradesh’ (self-reliant state).
UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev said despite the constraints of a Covid-hit economy, the UP government had come up with a budget that had kept the interests of all classes. Adding a dash of politics, he said, “This budget would also help end politics of appeasement, discrimination and family-oriented politics.”
“No section of the society has been ignored and still financial discipline has been ensured. The budget document is essentially a reflection of how UP is working on the mission of being self-reliant, modelled on the lines of PM Narendra Modi’s vision of selfreliant India,” he said. “It has something for everyone. There are allocations for infrastructure development, for highways and expressways, for airports, for medical education, for tourism promotion and for women, child, poor, farmers and the needy,” he said. The UP BJP chief said that the budget will pave the way for making villages digital while ensuring that our young stay connected with their roots through ‘gurukul’ scheme.
The state BJP chief said that the new medical colleges would help in better treatment and research against diseases.
Mohsin Raza, UP minority affairs minister, said, “This is a historic budget. UP is the first state in the country to opt for a paperless budget but more than that it has schemes for everyone. No section of the society has been ignored. I must say that the budget has achieved in doing what no government could do in the past.”
