‘Extra care needed in view of corona surge in some states’

LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath gave directives to officials on Thursday to maintain an effective system of protection against Covid-19 in Uttar Pradesh.

He said any laxity in this regard may prove dangerous and keeping this in view strict vigil should be maintained at every level.

Reviewing the Covid-19 situation at a high-level meeting at his official residence here, Yogi said Covid-19 in the state was completely under control. However, there was a need to take extra care in view of increase in cases of Covid-19 in some states.

He said contact tracing and surveillan­ce should be carried out actively, as testing played an important role in breaking the chain of Covid-19. He was informed at the meeting that the testing work was being carried out effectivel­y and focused testing was being done on priority. He said that people should constantly be made aware regarding measures for protection against Covid-19 and compliance with

Covid protocol should be ensured. He underlined the need of use of masks and following social distancing norms across the state. The chief minister also asked officials to run the integrated command and control centres establishe­d in the districts actively. He said the Covid-19 situation should be reviewed by the district magistrate­s and chief medical officers at a Covid hospital in the morning and at the integrated command and control centre in the evening. Reviewing the corona vaccinatio­n campaign, he said the vaccinatio­n work should be conducted according to the guidelines and order set by the Government of India.

He also asked officials to carry out regular monitoring of vaccinatio­n work.
