117% vaccination turnout in Lko, highest so far
LUCKNOW : As many as 11,086 (117%) of the targeted 9,488 beneficiaries took the jabs in Lucknow on Thursday. This was highest turnout so far after 13 rounds of Covid vaccination.
Of the beneficiaries who took the vaccine shots, 4,035 were females and 7,051 males. In all, 9,196 were called to take Covishield and 10,540 (115%) took the jab while 292 were called to take Covaxin and 546 (187%) took it, according to the health department. There were 120 vaccination booths in the district.
A total of 334 people were vaccinated at the Vivekananda Polyclinic, 863 took the shots at Era Medical College against a target of 700. “
“As the vaccination programme is moving ahead, the confidence level too is growing, and in future rounds, more people will take the jab,” said Dr
Sandeep Kapoor, director, Healthcity Hospital, who took his second jab.
After 13 rounds of Covid vaccination, Lucknow got 84,039 beneficiaries vaccinated against a target of 1,31,081, which was 64.11% vaccination in the state capital.
“A sharp rise in vaccination was seen after the ninth round on February 15,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general, Association of International Doctors.
“Continuous efforts have brought good results in vaccination,” said Dr MK Singh, in-charge of vaccination in Lucknow. He said no adverse effect after vaccination was reported.
On Friday, 102 vaccination booths will be set up at 40 places to vaccinate over 12,000 beneficiaries. “There will be a second dose for health workers. If someone wants their first dose, we will facilitate,” said Dr Singh.
