Youth beaten to death in Meja
PRAYAGRAJ: An 18-year-old youth was beaten to death allegedly over a land dispute, in Nevadhia village, under the trans-Yamuna Meja police station area, late on Tuesday night. An FIR was lodged against four persons in this connection on the complaint of the youth’s kin, police said.
According to reports, farmer Ramdas Binds’s son, Anand Bind, used to help his father in the fields. Ramdas Bind informed the police that he was in a dispute with his relatives over property. On Tuesday night, Hoti Lal, his wife, Rajeshwari, and two others took Anand with them on some pretext and murdered him. They later threw the body near their house. Ramdas rushed to the spot on receiving the information in the morning and called the police. Saurabh Dixit, SP, trans-Yamuna, said that an FIR has been lodged against four persons and efforts were on to nab them.

The girl’s family went to complain to the family of the youth, where the two sides ended up arguing. As tempers flared, both groups clashed with each other resulting in injuries to some people, including the girl’s mother.

Fire breaks out at private hosp in Kashi VARANASI: Patients and their kin panicked after a fire broke out in a private Galaxy Hospital in Mahmoorganj area of Varanasi on Wednesday morning, said police and added that all the patients were rescued. A fire brigade officer said that fire broke out on the third floor of the hospital.
