VINDHYACHAL DIVISION CONSISTS OF THREE DISTRICTS NAMELY MIRZAPUR, SONBHADRA AND BHADOHI.

VARANASI: Apna Dal (Sonelal) national president and Mirzapur MP Anupriya Patel has written a letter to chief minister Yogi Adityanath for starting the process to set up a state university in the Vindhyachal division, also known as the Mirzapur division.

Vindhyachal division consists of three districts namely Mirzapur, Sonbhadra and Bhadohi.

The letter, sent to the chief minister on March 11, reads, “As you are aware, there is no university in the Vindhyachal division. Due to this, the children of farmers, the poor, labourers and the tribal community remain deprived of higher education. The degree and postgraduate colleges in the region are affiliated with either the Mahatma Gandhi Vidyapeeth (in Varanasi) or Purvanchal University (in Jaunpur). Both the universities are far away from Sonbhadra and many pockets of Mirzapur. It also causes other problems.”

“In the budget, the state government led by you has announced to set up a university each in every division of the state. This announcement is being appreciated everywhere. Especially, the people of Vindhyachal division are very happy. The demand to set up Vindhya University in Vindhyachal is a long-standing one,” wrote Patel.

“Respecting public sentiments, I have requested you for the same through a letter earlier too. With your announcement, this dream seems to be coming true,” she said.

She requested the chief minister to take the steps required for the Vindhya University set up near the Vindhayachal division headquarters Mirzapur or in any area in its vicinity as soon as it is possible. She also urged the chief minister to instruct the authorities concerned in this respect.
