‘Kumbh Sandesh Yatra’ from Kanyakumari reaches Prayagraj
PRAYAGRAJ: The ‘Kumbh Sandesh Yatra’, which started from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu on February 27, arrived in Prayagraj on Monday. The aim of the yatra is to connect people with the religious, mythological, scientific and cultural aspects of Kumbh Mela.
Additionally, the aim is also to acquaint the common man with why the Kumbh is held at just four places in the country. According to Hindu mythology, the nectar which came out from the churning of the sea in the tug-o-war between the gods and the demons, four drops of the nectar fell at those four places.
The yatra was accorded a grand welcome. Seers, lawyers, medical practitioners and common folk offered flowers and welcomed the yatra which had covered a journey of about 5,000 kilometres to reach Prayagraj.
A meeting of seers based on Kumbh was held at Kaivalyadham ashram. Tikaramafi Ashram Peethadheeshwar Swami Harichaitanya Brahmachari said that the Kumbh Sandesh Yatra was a powerful medium to connect people with Sanatan Dharma. This meaningful initiative needs to continue uninterrupted, he said.
Astrologer Ramnaresh Tripathi threw light on the scientific significance of Kumbh. Takshak Peethadhishwar Ravi Shankar Maharaj emphasised on bringing the religious and scientific significance of Kumbh before common folk. Srinivas Reddy, who is leading the yatra, gave information about the results of the journey so far.
National spokesperson of the yatra, Jyotirvid Acharya Avinash Rai, said that the world is afraid of the corona epidemic. In such a scenario, Kumbh Sandesh Yatra has been taken out to free people from fear and bring in a new consciousness to life. A dozen people including Dilli Vasant, Balakrishna Reddy, Madhusudan Arge, Mastan Reddy are involved in the yatra.
The Kumbh Sandesh Yatra was welcomed by high court lawyers at Eklavya intersection. They were also accorded a welcome at Prayag Sangeet Samiti and Bhardwaj Ashram under the leadership of MLA Harshvardhan Bajpai. Bajpai said that this yatra is spreading a new awakening in society. Ranjana Vajpayee presented Gangajal to the people involved in the yatra.
From Prayagraj, the Kumbh Sandesh Yatra will leave for for Varanasi on Tuesday. Acharya Avinash Rai said that on March 24, the yatra will reach Delhi. Leaving the vehicle from there, he will reach Haridwar on March 31. Worshiping the Ganga in Haridwar he will share the experience and results of the journey with seers and members of monastic orders camping at Haridwar Kumbh. After discussing all the issues, a proposal will be made and given to the union ministry of culture, so that they can work in accordance with it to promote Kumbh.
