Puramufti becomes Prayagraj’s 41st police station

PRAYAGRAJ: With Puramufti police station becoming functional, Prayagraj district now has 41 police stations. The new police station will also include Bamrauli and Sallahpur police outposts and the panchayat elections in the villages under them will now be held under the new police station. Besides, the new police station will also include many villages of Kaushambi district.

Senior police officials, including IG range KP Singh, SSP Sarvshrest­ha Tripathi, SP city Dinesh Kumar Singh and SP Kaushambi Ramesh Patel held a meeting at the new police station on Sunday and gave instructio­ns to the policemen deployed there. IG range KP Singh said in view of better policing and crime control, the decision was taken to set up a new police station.

Crime and criminal tracking network and systems (CCTNS) number has also been issued to the police station from Delhi. Cases registered here will be under the jurisdicti­on of Prayagraj district. CCTNS team of Prayagraj has also completed all formalitie­s and technical works. The new police station will reduce burden of Dhumanganj police station. IG range KP Singh further said the proposal of making Airport police station was also in the pipeline.

Sixty-nine villages of Kaushambi were brought under jurisdicti­on of Dhumnaganj police station. Although, they were covered under Prayagraj revenue department, FIR was registered by Kaushambi police in case of any criminal incident. Forty villages were in Puramufti while 29 were in Pipri area of Kaushambi.
