Personalised drugs may become a distinct reality: Experts
LUCKNOW: In future, your case file may change to include your routine and profession, based on which the doctor may prescribe medicines. That was one of the inferences as experts deliberated on many issues at the two-day ISPMCON-2021, the international conference of Indian Society of Personalized Medicine. The meet, which began on Wednesday, was jointly organised by the Department of Personalized and Molecular Medicine, Era University and National Academy of Medical Sciences (India). While a part of the conference was organised at Era Medical University, Lucknow, a major portion of it was held online, with international experts participating. “Blanket treatment regimen will soon be replaced by personalised or precision medicine,” said NS Verma, one of the chairpersons of the session on pharmacogeonomics and chronotherapy. The event began with the welcome address by Farzana Mahdi, vice-chancellor, Era University. Prominent speakers included Kalpana Joshi from Pune University, Pune.
