ETAH DHABA CASE: THOSE FRAMED AND PUT IN JAIL WILL GET JUSTICE SOON

AGRA: Inspector general (Aligarh range) Piyush Mordia visited the ‘dhaba’ in Etah from where 10 persons, including two dhaba owners, were arrested by police in a fabricated case when the two constables were asked for payment of bill of the food they ate on February 4.

Talking to newsmen, Mordia said, “We came to know about the matter when the complaint was lodged by the dhaba owner. Already, station incharge Indreshpal Singh, constables Santosh Kumar and Shailendra Yadav have been suspended and booked under anti-corruption and extortion law.”

Also, the case against 10 persons who are in jail ten has been transferre­d to Aligarh and crime branch of Aligarh will investigat­e it for proper justice. The FIR registered against three cops too has been transferre­d to Aligarh and Circle Officer level cop would investigat­e it, said Mordia. The name of liquor mafia had also surfaced in regard to the case, and it will be investigat­ed accordingl­y, said the IG.

“A few persons, including family members of cops, have been interrogat­ed,” said ADG Agra Zone Rajeev Krishna.

Two cops, Santosh Kumar and Shailendra Yadav, from Kotwali Rural police station in Etah refused to pay for the food they had consumed at an eatery, leading to an argument. Later, they together with incharge of Kotwali Dehat police station Indreshpal Singh, allegedly filed a fake case against 10 people and arrested them.

The dhaba is run by Praveen Kumar, a physically challenged man, with the help from his brothers Pushpendra Kumar and Deepak Kumar.
