RUN ALL COVID HOSPITALS AT FULL CAPACITY, CHIEF SECY TO DMS
LUCKNOW: Chief secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari has directed all district magistrates to operate dedicated Covid hospitals on full capacity and enhance number of such hospitals subject to the assessment of local requirement.
Holding a virtual meeting on Covid control and vaccination here on Wednesday, he said there was an urgent need to step up contact tracing, testing and surveillance.
“A vigil must be kept on all coming to UP from other states by rail, road and air. RTPCR test must be carried out in all suspect cases,” he said.
The CS said the integrated command centre must be in regular touch with people who were in home isolation arranging early hospitalization of all serious patients.
“DMs, SPs and CMOs must hold meetings in the command centre to regularly monitor progress of testing, contact tracing, surveillance and enforcement,” he said.
Tiwari directed DMs to order strict action against those flouting norms related to masking and social distancing apart from making people aware of such norms through the public address system.
Stressing on the need for stepping up the vaccination drive in the state, the CS asked officials to make all necessary preparations for the drive that was scheduled from April 1 for people above 45 years of age. He told officials to ensure vaccination of all health and frontline workers who had not taken vaccine yet.
