Covid cases on rise in Kashi, DM issues prohibitory order
VARANASI : In order to curb rising cases of Covid-19 in Varanasi district, district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma, on Thursday passed a prohibitory order to be implemented in the entire district.
He said that all shops will open at 9am and will close at 9pm.
Sharma said that every individual will wear a mask and follow a social distance of two gaz (over 1.5 meters).
The wearing of masks in all the hotels, malls, shopping malls, restaurants, banquet halls, and marriage halls is a must for all, and everyone will follow social distancing, he said.
The shopkeepers will have to use gloves and make arrangement for sanitisers.
If any shopkeepers or customers violate the norm, the action of sealing will be taken. Sharma said that if the shops are found violating the order, action would be taken against them.
He said that all the passengers and auto-rickshaw drivers will wear mask mandatorily. No auto rickshaw will carry commuters beyond its capacity. If auto-rickshaw drivers violate the rule, the vehicle will be seized.
In the panchayat poll process, the people not wearing a mask and not following social distancing will not be given entry in the developmental block and counting venue. Likewise, people without masks and ignoring social distancing will not be given entry to government offices.
Under relevant sections of the epidemic act, action will be taken against those found violating the restrictions.
