AIMIM fields bodybuilder for PNN’s ward bypoll
PRAYAGRAJ: As Dariyabad ward-1 (ward number 57) of Prayagraj Nagar Nigam (PNN) goes for voting during the bypoll to elect a new corporator on April 15, all eyes would be on the performance of the candidate fielded by the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM).
The party has fielded a 32-year-old bodybuilder of Sangam city Osama Ansari as its candidate, who has won statelevel gold medal in bodybuilding and participated at various competitions at the national level. Pursuing law from Naini based college, politics is new for Osama Ansari but his fascination for social media and popularity among youths prompted him to contest the by-poll, he said. “I have been going to the gym for the past over 15 years now and have won many competitions, including winning UP championship twice and bagging a place under top-10 at inter-university championship during my student days while pursuing my graduation from Kanpur University,” said Ansari. He said he inherited the passion for bodybuilding from his father Fakhruddin Ansari, a businessman and a former bodybuilder.
AIMIM had made its presence felt in the Nagar Nigam polls in 2017 by winning the seat of ward number 71 (Atala).
“Our candidate, Osama Ansari has filed his nomination paper at the nagar nigam office on Tuesday”, said zonal spokesperson of the party, Mohamad Afsar.
In 2017, our candidate Moinuddin defeated Samajwadi Party’s candidate Sarferaz who was the corporator of ward number 71 for over 25 years and we are sure to win the by-poll of ward number 51 as well.
The ward number 51 seat fell vacant after the death of former corporator Ehtesham Rizvi of Congress party.
