High court to remain closed till April 24

PRAYAGRAJ: The High Court and its offices at Allahabad and Lucknow will remain closed from April 20 to April 24 to break the chain of Covid-19 infection.

The committee of Allahabad High Court formed for the purpose of taking preventive and remedial measures for combating the threat of Covid-19, has further cleared that there shall be no physical filing/e-filing during the period.

Only urgent cases will be taken up by the courts only through virtual modes with effect from April 26, 2021, as per a notificati­on released by registrar protocol Ashish Kumar Srivastava. All these modalities and arrangemen­ts have been approved by acting Chief Justice

Sanjay Yadav, the notificati­on stated.

The committee further directed that the district magistrate­s – Prayagraj and Lucknow and chief medical officer (CMO) at Prayagraj and Lucknow will ensure arrangemen­t of covid-19 medicines and oxygen cylinders in adequate numbers at respective covid-19 hospitals at Allahabad and Lucknow.
