‘Govt should make sufficient arrangemen­ts for oxygen supply’

VARANASI: Congress leader and former minister Ajay Rai on Monday said that state government should make sufficient arrangemen­ts of oxygen supply, lifesaving drugs and ensure adequate number of beds in Covid hospitals in Varanasi, so that the Covid patients do not experience any difficulty in getting proper treatment.

He demanded that the government should also give financial assistance to the kin of those who died due to Covid-19 and are from financiall­y weak background.

Addressing a press conference, Rai said that sufficient availabili­ty of oxygen and Remdesivie­r injections should be made available in

Varanasi.

He said concrete steps should be taken to control the prices of medicines and government hospitals lying closed should be restarted.

He said that the government should bear the expenses of education of Amrita Jaiswal, whose brother Abhay Jaiswal, died few days ago due to carelessne­ss during treatment at the hospital.
