New phase of vaccination will prove decisive: CM
LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday directed the state health and family welfare department to start preparing for the third phase of the Covid-19 vaccination from May 1 under which every one above the age of 18 years will be eligible to get the jab, a state government official said. The CM issued the directive at a high-level virtual meeting with senior officials
Adityanath said the new phase of vaccination will prove decisive in the fight against Covid-19.
In this connection, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement about the vaccination for all those above 18 years of age from May 1 was a welcome move.
He described vaccination as the most effective protection against Covid-19. Those patients who had received both doses of the vaccine but were still contracting the Covid-19 infection were recovering in four to five days and the discharge policy of hospitals should be prepared keeping this in mind, the chief minister suggested.

Additional chief secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Amit Mohan Prasad said the state government would prepare a work plan for the third phase of the vaccination.
The state government procures vaccine under the guidelines and the rate fixed by the Central government.
