Daily Covid-19 cases cross 3000 mark in Uttarakhan­d

DEHRADUN : Uttarakhan­d on Tuesday reported 3012 fresh cases, the highest daily cases since the pandemic started in the state, taking the state tally of Covid -19 cases to 1,29,205.

Earlier on Saturday the state had reported the highest daily cases- 2757. Prior to that, the state had reported the highest daily cases on Friday- 2402 and on September 19 last year, with 2078 cases.

The state also reported death of 27 Covid-19 positive patients on Tuesday, taking the total Covid death toll in the state to 1919.

Out of 1,29,205, a total of 103633 people have recovered successful­ly, taking the recovery rate in the state to 80.21 8 %.

According to the health bulletin released by the state health department on Tuesday evening, 3012 cases include maximum 999 cases from Dehradun followed by 796 from Haridwar district.

Dehradun district has reported the maximum 42,902 Covid-19 positive cases so far followed by Haridwar (22560) and Nainital (15989).

Also, 734 Covid-19 patients were discharged from different hospitals in the state on Tuesday with maximum 518 from Dehradun district.

The positivity rate in the state has now reached 3.81%. The active cases in the state have now surged to 21014. The state has so far tested over 33.91 lakh samples of which results of over 30 are awaited.

Uttarakhan­d currently has currently 106 containmen­t zones in eight districts including maximum 47 in Dehradun, 9 in Haridwar and 35 in Nainital.
