HEAVY FORCE DEPLOYED AT SRN HOSPITAL AFTER FRIDAY CLASH BETWEEN DOCS, PATIENT’S KIN
PRAYAGRAJ: A day after a clash between attendants of a patient and junior doctors at SRN hospital here over alleged medical negligence, a heavy security force, including provincial armed constabulary (PAC) personnel, was deployed at the hospital on Saturday.
After the incident, an FIR was lodged against one Zulfiqar Ali, an inspector at the writ cell in Pratapgarh, and his kin on the complaint of SRN hospital administration on Friday night. Following the FIR, Ali was suspended on Friday itself, said IG, range, KP Singh. He further said a departmental enquiry had also been initiated in connection with the incident.
Zulfiqar Ali’s 72-year-old mother was admitted to SRN hospital following some respiratory problem some days back. Ali, his brother Sarfaraz and other kin had an argument with doctors when the aged lady’s condition deteriorated and she died soon afterwards. However, her Covid sample test report was found negative.
On Friday, junior doctors stalled work for over an hour alleging that Zulfiqar Ali and his kin misbehaved and assaulted them. The doctors resumed work after being pacified by senior officials on assurance of action against the inspector and security to them.
Meanwhile, Ali alleged that doctors assaulted him and his kin with iron rods resulting in serious injuries to them. He said he too will also give a complaint against the doctors soon.
