Telemedicine service launched in Kashi
VARANASI: District administration has started telemedicine facility “Kashi Kavach” in Varanasi for providing consultation to the people in need.
MLC AK Sharma, divisional commissioner Deepak Agarwal and district magistrate Kaushalraj Sharma formally launched the service on Thursday. The doctors of Indian Medical Association (IMA) will give free consultation to the patients through telemedicine service.
Sharma said that a meeting was held with the doctors and members of the IMA. Names of the doctors with their mobile numbers will be updated soon, he said.
Along with telemedicine service, services of some competent e-marketing company would also be taken to deliver the medicines prescribed by doctors at the doorstep of the patients, said the DM.
Similarly, arrangements were also being made for sample collection for lab test and collection of reports, he said.
District magistrate Kaushalraj Sharma said that Covid-19 kit comprising medicines will be available at 45 medical stores in the city at cheaper rate. The Covid-19 kit, including Azithromycin, Doxycycline, Paracetamol, Ivermectin, Zinc, Calcium, Vitamin C and Calcium D3 etc required for prevention of Corona would be available at select stores, said the DM after a meeting with the members of chemist and druggist association on Thursday.
1,384 new cases, 2,200 recover in Kashi
A total of 1,384 fresh Covid cases surfaced in Varanasi while 2,200 people recovered from the infection in the district on Thursday. However, 14 people succumbed to corona during the day. Now the district has a total 16,698 active cases. Chief medical officer Dr VB Singh confirmed the figures. Of the 2200 people, 2,087 recovered in home isolation while 113 were discharged from hospitals after recovery. HTC
‘Inform police if any driver demands higher than usual fare’
After it came to light that certain drivers of ambulances, hearses, e-rickshaws, auto-rickshaws etc were demanding more than the determined fare from people here, additional deputy commissioner of police Vikas Kumar has asked people to inform police commissionerate, Varanasi, at traffic helpline 7317202020. He also asked people to share details including vehicle number and name of the driver. The cop said action will be taken immediately against such drivers.
Appealing to drivers of various vehicles to not charge high fare from the public, Kumar said people may call up at traffic inspector mobile no. 9454402409 in case they face any traffic-related problem.
