Covid-19 situation in Jaunpur, Ghazipur reviewed

VARANASI: MLC AK Sharma and divisional commission­er Deepak Agarwal reviewed action being taken for prevention of Coronaviru­s spread in Jaunpur and Ghazipur, as they held a review meeting via video conferenci­ng with the district magistrate­s of both the districts.

Agarwal said that district magistrate­s have been instructed to ensure adequate availabili­ty of oxygen, beds and medicines in Covid-19 hospitals in their respective districts and that Covid-19 patients do not face any kind of difficulty in getting medical attention.

District magistrate, Jaunpur, Manish Kumar Verma and district magistrate, Ghazipur, Mangla Prasad Singh told the commission­er about the action taken so far in their respective districts for checking the spread of Coronaviru­s.

They said that full care is being taken of Covid-19 patients. Patients with Covid-19-like symptoms, living in home isolation, are also being monitored. Efforts are being made to take care of them and daily calls are made to these patients to get their health-related informatio­n.

On Wednesday, 369 fresh Covid-19 cases were found in Jaunpur district and four persons died and around 525 people recovered. With fresh cases, the number of active cases increased to 5,215 in the district, according to a medical bulletin issued by the district health department.

In Ghazipur district, 662 fresh cases were found and five persons died on Wednesday. With the fresh cases, the active cases’ tally increased to 5,839. Nodal additional chief medical officer Umesh Singh confirmed the figures from Ghazipur.
