Covid team attacked in Naini

PRAYAGRAJ: Medical Mobile Unit team which had gone for Covid testing at hotspot area of Madhwapur Kharkauni Patti was attacked on Friday afternoon. It is alleged that a man pelted the team members with stones and chased them away.

According to reports, lab technician Himanshu Singh, Anganwadi worker Jyoti, Devmati, Geeta Bhartiya, Kiran Devi and other team members were testing the locals when one Dharmendra Bhartiya reached there and asked the team to take his sample for testing. However, he allegedly gave his wrong address and mobile number which resulted in an argument between him and the team members. Dharmendra threw the testing kit and fled when the team called the police.

However, he returned after a while and threw stones on the team forcing them to flee the area. The team members reached Naini police station and submitted a complaint.

SHO Naini Sunil Kumar Bajpai said the man will be traced and action will be taken against him.

Loot incident cracked by police

Special Operation Group on Friday cracked the loot incident reported by agent of a private agency in Puramufti area on Thursday. Police claimed that the agent Saddam Hussain himself gave the cash Rs 1.50 lakh to his friend and cooked up the story of loot to mislead superiors and the police.

Resident of Kaushambi, Saddam on Friday alleged that he was going to company’s office with the cash when miscreants looted it on gunpoint.

On suspicion, police rounded up Saddam’s friend Amir who informed that Saddam gave him the bag containing the cash. Saddam has been arrested and cash Rs 74000 has been recovered from him, SOG incharge Shailesh Singh said.
