Veteran journalist passes away
CHIEF MINISTER AND DEPUTY CHIEF MINISTER KESHAV PRASAD MAURYA HAVE EXPRESSED CONDOLENCES ON THE DEATH OF DR TRIPATHI
PRAYAGRAJ: : Senior journalist of Prayagraj Ram Naresh Tripathi died at Nazareth hospital of the city on Monday evening. Considered to be an iconic figure in journalism, Tripathi was 73 years old.
According to his son, Shashank Tripathi, his father was suffering from Covid and was admitted to the Covid ward of Swarooprani Nehru Hospital in the city. Later, he was shifted to Nazareth Hospital on April 27, where he breathed his last on Monday evening. Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya have expressed deep condolences on the death of Dr Tripathi.
“It is very shocking for me as the city and country have lost an iconic figure, well versed in Vedic culture, astrology, Sanskrit and above all journalism par excellence. It is a personal loss for me”, said Keshav Prasad Maurya.
He expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.
Dr Tripathi was the state president of the Uttar Pradesh Journalists Association, the national vice president of the National Union of Journalists. He was the author and editor of several books, visiting professor in US University, regional director of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and administrator of Bhavans Mehta College, Bharwari in Kaushambi district.
Tripathi’s journalism journey began in 1971 from the Desdoot newspaper from Prayagraj. He was the chief reporter in a Hindi daily in Prayagraj. In 1983, he took over as the bureau chief of Navbharat Times in Prayagraj and continued to serve there for 20 years.
BJP Member of Parliament from Allahabad Prof Rita Bahuguna Joshi has also expressed deep condolences on the sudden demise of Dr Tripathi.
