TREATMENT FACILITIES HAVE GONE HAYWIRE IN UP: AKHILESH

-

LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday said chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s visits to different districts were of no use at a time when people were dying of Covid and black fungus on a daily basis.

Alleging that treatment facilities had gone haywire in the state, Akhilesh said chief minister’s tours are rather troubling patients because when he reaches a district or hospitals, officers and doctors attend to him rather than making arrangements for Covid patients.

“What would happen with all this ‘aadesh-nirdesh (orders and directions)’ of the CM? Can’t this government see the piles of dead bodies by the rivers and vultures and eagles hovering over them?” Akhilesh said in a statement.

The former chief minister claimed the condition in villages was turning bad to worse. “State’s 70% population lives in villages and there was no system or arrangements there to tackle coronavirus or black fungus. There is no large-scale testing going on there. Villages don’t have paracetamol, leave alone drugs for Covid and it is useless to even discuss vaccination there.” Akhilesh claimed whatever health infrastructure was there in the state was all installed by the previous Samajwadi Party government.

“BJP cannot even claim credit for AIIMS in Rae Barelli and Gorakhpur. Today, if the Haj House and Awadh Ship Gram are coming in handy for Covid treatment, it is because these two places were built by the SP government,” he said.
