Over 4.51 lakh vaccinated so far against Covid-19

Over 47,500 people aged between 18-44 get first dose

PRAYAGRAJ: A total of 4,51,746 Covid-19 vaccine shots have been administer­ed to the recipients of all age groups, including above 45 years and between 18 and 44 years, in the district till May 17. While 3, 52,045 beneficiar­ies have taken the first dose of vaccine and 99,683 recipients have got the second dose, said district medical and health officials.

They said the health department has currently taken up vaccinatio­n exercise for recipients between age group of 18 and 44 which is underway at 39 centres in the district, including both rural and urban areas.

Besides, beneficiar­ies above 45 of years are also being vaccinated at other centres in rural and urban pockets numbering around 98, including 20 community health centres and 62 primary health centres, said Dr RS Thakur, district nodal officer for Covid-19 vaccinatio­n.

He said that Covid-19 vaccinatio­n that started on January 16 in the district has witnessed 32,735 health workers getting the first jab and 20,967 getting the second and the final jab.

Likewise, 37,684 frontline workers have been administer­ed the first dose of the vaccine while 19,648 have received the second dose till date, Dr Thakur said. A scrutiny of the district health department data reveals that if one goes as per the age wise break-up of the data for people administer­ed the Covid-19 vaccine, so far 47,771 people between the age group of 18-44 years have been administer­ed the jabs even as the second and final dose of the vaccine is yet to become due for them.

Among those aged 45 to 60 years, so far 1,19,505 have been given the first dose and 18,203 second jab.

Among the above 60 years age category, so far 1,14,350 have been administer­ed the first dose and 40,683 given the second dose as well.
