MASE behind success of Covid-19 mgmt in Varanasi
VARANASI: Monitoring, Analysis, Strategy, Execution (MASE) helped control Covid-19 spread in Varanasi, said an official posted at the Integrated Kashi Covid Response Centre (IKCRC), which is working in association with the Kashi Integrated Covid Command and Control Centre (KICCCC).
KICCCC receives a number of calls from different localities of the city and helps a number of patients daily.
Various details like names of patients and infection in various localities, vaccination, whether medicine kits were distributed, number of patients in home isolation, are noted. The data is collected by a team of health department and officials and is later analysed.
A senior official said IKCRC was responsible for micromonitoring the Covid situation daily in city areas as well as rural pockets and collects data like localities having maximum cases, oxygen demand, number of daily deaths, vaccination, localities having a large number of patients in home isolation and analyses this data thoroughly.
On the basis of this analysis, a strategy was formulated to break the chain. Sanitization was done, Covid medicine kits were distributed in localities having Covid-19 patients and symptomatic people.
IKCRC continues to analyse data daily, and help is being extended daily, said the official, adding that the centre works round the clock with a team of 135 staff members.
Nand Kishore Kalal, additional nodal officer, IKRC, said regular monitoring, analysis, strategy, execution helped manage Covid-19 and break the chain of Covid-19 infection in Kashi.
He said that divisional commissioner
Deepak Agarwal and district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma monitor IKCRC and KICCCC and with the experts
formed MASE which changed and controlled the situation. He said that 1,849 positive cases were reported in the district in
a day on May 1.
Following the MASE, the cases decreased to 254 in the district on May 21.
