‘Construction work on dev projects must go on’
VARANASI: District magistrate Kaushalraj Sharma has instructed executing agencies to ensure that no construction work is stopped.
In a meeting at his camp office on Saturday, Sharma reviewed construction work being carried out by various construction agencies.
He sought information about the work from the officer concerned of the executing agencies and said that construction work should continue.
He scolded the village pump officer on information about the closure of 10 tube wells and instructed him to inspect the condition of tube wells in rural pockets and find out how many tube wells are functioning and how many were out of order. He also sought information about construction being carried out by executing agencies, including CandDS, IPDS, UPPCL, etc. He also took information about ongoing construction of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and instructed the officials to continue construction at a brisk pace.

172 fresh cases, 2 deaths in Kashi
Varanasi reported 172 fresh Covid-19 cases and two deaths due to the virus on Saturday. Meanwhile, 672 people recovered in home isolation, and 72 people recovered and discharged from different hospitals, said chief medical officer Dr VB Singh. At present, 3152 active cases are in the district, he added.
