‘Constructi­on work on dev projects must go on’

VARANASI: District magistrate Kaushalraj Sharma has instructed executing agencies to ensure that no constructi­on work is stopped.

In a meeting at his camp office on Saturday, Sharma reviewed constructi­on work being carried out by various constructi­on agencies.

He sought informatio­n about the work from the officer concerned of the executing agencies and said that constructi­on work should continue.

He scolded the village pump officer on informatio­n about the closure of 10 tube wells and instructed him to inspect the condition of tube wells in rural pockets and find out how many tube wells are functionin­g and how many were out of order. He also sought informatio­n about constructi­on being carried out by executing agencies, including CandDS, IPDS, UPPCL, etc. He also took informatio­n about ongoing constructi­on of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and instructed the officials to continue constructi­on at a brisk pace.

172 fresh cases, 2 deaths in Kashi

Varanasi reported 172 fresh Covid-19 cases and two deaths due to the virus on Saturday. Meanwhile, 672 people recovered in home isolation, and 72 people recovered and discharged from different hospitals, said chief medical officer Dr VB Singh. At present, 3152 active cases are in the district, he added.
