OUR MAIN THRUST IS TO RUN MORE AND MORE TRAINS ON DFC SO THAT MORE PATH IS AVAILABLE FOR COACHING OPS

PRAYAGRAJ : Since the commencement of train operations on the New Bhaupur and New Khurja stretch of Eastern DFC, Railways has been trying to run as many freight trains on Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) as possible. On average, currently, Indian Railways (IR) is running 30 trains (both ways) on this section of DFC.

By the end of Friday, NCR achieved the feat of interchanging 36 trains with the DFC, which is the best figure of running of freight trains on DFC in a single day so far, informed NCR CPRP Shivam Sharma.

“On Friday, IR handed over 13 trains to DFC in the up direction and 23 trains in the down direction. The released capacity of IR network is utilized for the efficient and punctual running of coaching trains and in providing high margins for maintenance blocks”, informed J Sanjay Kumar, Divisional Traffic Manager, Tundla.

The work of the remaining section of DFC in NCR is in full swing and by October, it is targeted to get the 130 km stretch between Rooma and Shujatpur also functional, inform NCR officials.

“Our main thrust is to run more and more trains on DFC so that more path is available for coaching operations on Indian Railways network,” says Pradeep Ojha, Chief Freight Traffic Manager(CFTM), NCR.

“Through efficient planning of Prayagraj Division and effective coordination between Tundla control room and DFC control room, we have been able to achieve this feat”, he added.

On running of record freight trains, NCR General Manager VK Tripathi said, “Although we have reasons to celebrate, yet the success is only half one as of now. Actual success will lie when entire EDFC along NCR will get commissioned,” he said while stressing that every officer should work hard in this direction.
