Prepare PHCs, CHCs for possible third wave: Kashi DM
VARANASI : Keeping in view the possibility of third wave of Corona, district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma has instructed chief medical officer to equip primary health centres (PHC) and community health centres (CHC) in both urban and rural areas with necessary infrastructure.
He said monitoring committees should be reconstituted having 10 members each.
“The members should be provided with a pulse oxymeter and thermal scanner each and be trained to use them. In the city, the teams would work under the guidance of city commissioner, ADM city and chief medical officer. Similarly in rural areas, the teams would work under the supervision of chief development officer, ADM administration and chief medical officer,” Sharma said.
Sanitation drive
A cleanliness drive was carried out at all primary health centres (PHC) in Varanasi on Sunday. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to inspect a PHC on Tuesday
morning before leaving for Mirzapur. There are 28 PHCs and seven community health centres (CHC) in Varanasi. According to an official, cleanliness drive focused on biomedical waste management, cleanliness of the premises, OPD chambers. The drive was conducted after district magistrate Kaushal Raj Sharma expressed anger over poor sanitation condition at PHC, Narpatpur which he inspected a few days ago. Thereafter, he instructed chief medical officer Dr VB Singh to ensure that PHCs were well cleaned.
