Make spl arrangements to inoculate govt employees, teachers, says CM
State govt taking necessary steps to vaccinate all eligible people as it is an effective shield in war against Covid, says Yogi
LUCKNOW : Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday instructed officials to make special arrangements for vaccination of state government employees, teachers, and parents of children below 12 years of age. Yogi said separate vaccination booths should be set up for the state government employees at district, tehsil, and development block levels in each district.
“Take forward the vaccination of teachers and make offices of district inspectors of schools and basic shiksha adhikiaris in each district as nodal centres for vaccinating teachers,” he said during a meeting on Covid vaccination. The CM also asked them to start vaccinating parents of children below 12 years of age as the third wave of the pandemic could affect children too.
“Set up special booths for such parents in each district. All of them should be vaccinated on priority. This will not only give safety from Covid to them but will also safeguard their children. Encourage such parents to come forward to get vaccinated. Execute this drive as a campaign,” he said.
He said the state government was taking all necessary steps for vaccinating all eligible people as inoculation was an effective shield in war against the Covid. He said there was a need to further speed up the vaccination drive across Uttar Pradesh.
“While the Centre is doing free vaccination of 45+ category, the state government through its own resources is vaccinating 18+ age group. Currently, people in 18+ age group are being vaccinated in 23 districts. From June 1, all 75 UP districts will start vaccinating 18+ category persons,” Yogi said during a meeting on Covid vaccination with officials.
“Keep all preparations ready to ensure a smooth vaccination drive and keep vaccines available. For availability of vaccines, keep in constant touch with the central government and vaccine manufacturing companies,” he directed officials.
The CM said the Centre had given its nod to three vaccines so far and that more vaccines were likely to come soon. “Keep tabs on all developments on the vaccine front. The state government has already issued a global tender so that more and more vaccine companies could participate in UP’s drive to ensure easy availability of vaccines. Engage vaccine making companies in a dialogue,” he said.
Yogi also directed officials to make more and more people aware about the vaccine and inspire eligible people to come forward for vaccination in large numbers by using various means of communication and publicity. “Invite the public representatives to the village vaccination drives. This will encourage people for vaccination,” he said.
The CM also talked about bringing vaccine wastage to zero and that Covid protocols must be followed at vaccination centres. He also said more and more villagers should be encouraged to register for vaccination through common service centres (CSCs).
