Yogi orders probe into Pt Chhannulal Mishra daughter’s death case

VARANASI: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday met renowned vocalist Padma Vibhushan Pt Chhannulal Mishra at Circuit House in Varanasi and assured him that a high-level probe in the matter of death of his elder daughter will be conducted.

Pt Mishra’s elder daughter Sangeeta Mishra, 48, died on April 29 while under treatment at Medwin Hospital in Maidagini area.Kashi region BJP vice president Dharmendra Singh, who was present in the meeting, said Pt Mishra along with his younger daughter Namrata Mishra met the CM at the Circuit House. Pt Mishra alleged that there had been negligence in treatment of Sangeeta in the hospital. District magistrate Kaushalraj Sharma had ordered a probe by a team of five doctors, which gave clean chit to the hospital. The probe report, a copy of which was handed over to Pt Mishra by additional chief medical officer Dr Piyush Rai on May 22, said no negligence took place in the treatment and the patient was given proper care.

On Tuesday, the chief minister expressed grief over the death of daughter of Pt Mishra. The CM shared the pain of Pt Mishra, watched video footage and the report. Later, the CM assured a high-level probe. “Entire state government is with you. We will get high-level probe done in the matter. If any negligence comes to the fore, strict action will be taken,” the CM assured while instructing divisional commissioner Deepak Agarwal to look into the matter. Pt Mishra informed the CM that Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to him on phone and expressed grief over the death of his daughter.
