More rain across UP in coming days, alert sounded
Lko and other districts of central UP will experience rainfall due to a change in weather conditions over the next two days
LUCKNOW : Districts across Uttar Pradesh are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall over the weekend, according to a fresh forecast issued by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday. Following the forecast, 28 districts of Uttar Pradesh have been put on alert for heavy rainfall, gusty winds and thunderstorms.
Lucknow and other districts of central UP will experience rainfall due to a change in weather conditions over the next two days, according to the forecast.
“The weather conditions caused by the approaching southwest monsoon and a low pressure zone over north India will lead to heavy rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms and gusty winds on May 12 to 14 over parts of Uttar Pradesh,” read a forecast issued by the IMD.
JP Gupta, director, state MeT department, said, “The disturbance caused by the approaching monsoon is concentrated over Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
It is likely to move in the North-western direction. This movement will lead to adverse weather conditions in UP districts.”
Considering the alert, the state government has asked the district administrations in eastern UP districts to stay on an alert and make arrangements to reduce the damage caused by the adverse weather conditions.
Some districts of UP, including the state capital, also reported scattered rains on Saturday.
This has led to a drop in temperatures across the state. The state capital recorded a maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was recorded at 25 degrees Celsius.
