VARANASI: : Dispelling rumours of uneasy relationship between him and Uttar Pradesh chief minister, deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Thursday said he enjoyed a very good relationship with Yogi Adityanath.

Maurya inaugurated various developmental projects in Mirzapur, which is famous for Maa Vindhyavasini Temple.

In response to a query by media persons, Maurya praised the chief minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Where was the Congress and the Samajwadi Party when Prime Minister Modi and chief minister Yogi were serving the public during corona crisis,” he questioned while alleging that both Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had disappeared during the second wave of the Covid-19.

Claiming that former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi doesn’t have leadership quality and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi was only seen on twitter during corona crisis, Maurya said the opposition parties were trying to mislead the public.

“But since public has seen the developmental works done during the rule of the BJP in last four year, there is no scope for the opposition,” said Maurya.

On June 22, Yogi had also paid a visit to Maurya’s residence, purportedly to bless Maurya’s son and daughter-inlaw on their recent wedding.

He claimed the BJP will win over 300 seats in 2022 assembly elections and form the government again in UP.

On a query on alleged conversion racket, Maurya said, “Strict action will be taken, if anyone tried to do forcible conversion by misleading or by luring through money.”

On June 22, Uttar Pradesh ATS arrested two persons for involvement in the religious conversion of people, students prompting chief minister Yogi Adityanath to direct investigating agencies to go into the depth of religious conversion cases.

On State Law Commission framing a draft law for the Uttar Pradesh government to help check rising population of the state, Maurya said the government was seriously pondering over population control law.

On talks of division of UP doing rounds in section of the media, he said, “I have no idea.”
