UTTAR PRADESH RERA TO HELP PROMOTERS COMPLETE 76 PENDING PROJECTS

LUCKNOW : The UP Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has identified 76 pending projects and will help promoters complete the same within a timeframe.

Registration of all these projects had lapsed and promoters were not able to complete the projects within the stipulated time, said officials.

“The UP RERA has identified these projects to facilitate their promoters in completing them,” said Rajive Kumar, chairman, UP RERA.

From July 5 to 9, Kumar and other members of the authority conducted one-on-one meetings with the promoters to discuss the project completion plan, current status of the projects, financial condition, map validation and dues pending with the authority.

They also discussed the issue of non-compliance of orders related to possession of flats or refund to homebuyers.

The promoters gave reasons for non-completion of projects and also put forward corrective measures to complete them.

Some of the promoters pointed out that even after six months of extension of registration period of projects due to Covid pandemic, construction work could not be completed on time due to lack of funds, said UP Real Estate Regulatory Authority officials.

Promoters also cited shortage of construction workers and difficulty in procurement of construction material.

RERA officials pointed out that its teams had inspected the 76 projects and prepared a report for each one of them.

UP RERA directed these promoters to submit a convincing and concrete plan for completion of delayed projects within the timeframe fixed by the authority in the review meeting.

RERA would also review the progress of these projects at its own level after considering reasons of non-completion given by promoters.
