Various depts gear up to roll out schemes in Bundelkhand
LUCKNOW: The Bundelkhand region will be in focus of the state government as it plans to roll out social and economic development schemes in the region in the six months.
Various departments of the state government will focus on implementing their projects in the region with the help of the Bundelkhand Development Board.
The departments like child development, women welfare, health, basic and higher education, skill development, MSME, agriculture and rural development among others have been directed to present their schemes/projects for the region that could be implemented in the next six months.
“The Bundelkhand Development Board has also suggested to the state government various projects and schemes for overall development of the region,” said Raja Bundela, vice chairman, Bundelkhand Development Board.
Recently, Suresh Kumar Khanna, finance minister in the state government, presided over a meeting in which various departments had made a presentation of projects run by them in Bundelkhand and Purvanchal regions- the two most backward regions of the state.
Members of the Bundelkhand Development Board had met chief minister Yogi Adityanath last month in which several issues related with the region were discussed.
Recently, the state government had announced oxygen policy to encourage industrialists to set up oxygen plants. Under this policy, maximum rebate has been given to those willing to set up oxygen plants in Bundelkhand region.
Migrant workers belonging to the region have returned to their hometowns in large numbers in the second wave of the pandemic. Migration from Bundelkhand for employment is high due to backwardness of the region.
