Jai Ram Thakur calls on PM Modi

SHIMLA: Himachal chief minister Jai Ram Thakur called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Saturday and apprised him of the Covid situation and vaccinatio­n programme being undertaken in the state.

The CM urged the Prime Minister to sanction bulk drug and medical devices park for the state which would not only boost industrial activities but also go a long way in generating employment opportunit­ies. He demanded funds for constructi­on of proposed airport at Nagchala in Mandi.

He also discussed issues regarding strengthen­ing the road connectivi­ty in Himachal.

He urged the Prime Minister to approve the document for financial assistance sent to the central government under the tourism infrastruc­ture developmen­t project.

He invited PM Modi to inaugurate 111 MW Sawra-Kuddu hydropower project and 210 MW Luhri Stage-I project constructe­d by Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited and to lay foundation stone of 66 MW Dhaulasidh project. He held discussion on strengthen­ing informatio­n technology and connectivi­ty in the state.

The PM assured to provide every possible assistance for developmen­t of the state.

Thakur also met Union minister Anurag Singh Thakur and discussed about strengthen­ing of sports infrastruc­ture in the state, especially constructi­on of indoor stadiums, besides radio network.
