Non-clinical staff at govt hospitals to abstain from work
Works related to medical certificates, reimbursement claim process for medical treatment are likely to get stuck at hospitals
LUCKNOW : People going to government hospitals for non-clinical work will face trouble as nonclinical/clerical staff across government hospitals in Uttar Pradesh have decided to stall their official work from Monday in protest against the transfers done allegedly in violation of rule recently on the call of UP Medical and Public Health Ministerial Association.
Works related to medical certificates, reimbursement claim process for medical treatment will get stuck at hospitals. Also reply to mails/queries from health department and other such office work will be hampered. “Transfers have been done in violation of rules. The couple posting rule allows both husband and wife to stay in one district but the transfers will now make many couples live in different districts. The transfer policy said 20% staff should be transferred but 60% were transferred. There are many other violations in the transfers,” claimed Akhilesh Srivastava, the president of Lucknow branch of the association.
There are 240 clerical staff in Lucknow deployed at Civil, Balrampur, Lok Bandhu and other hospitals and about 2,800 in state who will abstain from work. “Many women staff have been transferred in districts that are over 700 km from the place of their present posting. Such shifting in a situation, where second wave of the Covid hasn’t gone yet and a probable third wave is there, has to be opposed firmly,” said Srivastava.
A letter was sent to the CM office by the association’s regional president Prem Kumar Singh and state general secretary KHS Saxena.
