Active Covid cases in UP below 1,000 now
LUCKNOW : Active cases under treatment in Uttar Pradesh came below 1000 on Friday, for the first time since June 2020. “The present number of active cases is 994 and has come below 1000 after several months,” said Amit Mohan Prasad, additional chief secretary, medical and health, in a press conference on Friday. According to the data, Aligarh, Balrampur, Basti, Etah, Hathras, Mahoba and Shrawasti have zero active cases while maximum 95 active cases are in Prayagraj, 89 in Kushinagar and 88 in Lucknow.

According to the data from the state health department Aligarh, Balrampur, Basti, Etah, Hathras, Mahoba and Shrawasti have zero active cases while maximum 95 active cases are in Prayagraj, 89 in Kushinagar and 88 in Lucknow. Of the total 994 active cases, over 900 are in home isolation.
In all, five deaths were reported in the state, including two each in Banda and Lakhimpur Kheri and one in Barabanki, according to the data. In all, 51 districts reported zero fresh Covid cases.
“Lucknow has till now reported 238547 Covid cases till now of which 235808 have recovered. The recovery rate in Lucknow is 98.85%,” said Dr Abhishek Shukla, secretary general, Association of International Doctors.
The state has till now tested 63545093 Covid samples. “The daily positivity rate in the state is 0.03% while the overall positivity rate is 2.7%,” said Prasad.
“People should take both the doses of vaccine when their turn comes. In some cases, people got infection even after vaccination but it remained mild, hence vaccination is necessary. So is use of mask,” said Prasad.
