Sunni waqf board gives 1,700 sq ft land to KV developmen­t board

SKVSADB gives 1,000 sq ft land near Baans Fatak in return

VARANASI : An exchange of land has taken place between Shri Kashi Vishwanath Special Area Developmen­t Board (SKVSADB) and the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board.

Under the exchange, UP Sunni Central Waqf Board gave over 1,700 square feet of land to SKVSADB for the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor Project and the SKVSADB gave 1,000 square feet land to Sunni Central Waqf Board near Baans Fatak, Varanasi.

According to a senior official of the board, according to the design of the project, there has to come up a control room on over 1,700 square feet of land adjacent to the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Corridor Project. The land belonged to the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board.

The officer said that the board officials spoke to Sunni Central Waqf Board authoritie­s and discussed the matter over a month ago. Thereafter, a meeting was held between the officials of the board and Sunni Central Waqf Board authoritie­s. Both parties reached an agreement for the exchange of land. Thereafter, the value of the land was assessed. In lieu of 1,700 square feet of land, the Sunni Central Waqf Board was given 1,000 square feet of land near Bans Fatak in Varanasi.

A top official of the SKVSADB, who didn’t wish to be named, confirmed the developmen­t. He said, “It took place around 10 days ago.”

Moreover, Anjuman Intezamia Masajid committee joint secretary SM Yaseen said that 1,700 square feet of land belonged to the UP Sunni Central Waqf Board, Lucknow. On behalf of the Sunni Central Waqf Board, Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Committee looked after the land as caretaker.
