KV temple admn announces new rates for attending aartis

VARANASI: Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple administra­tion has announced the new rates for attending different aartis and anushthans (rituals) at Kashi Vishwanath Temple in the pious month of Sravan. A list of new rates has also been released by the temple administra­tion.

“For attending mangla aarti on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, per ticket rate is Rs 700, but the same will cost Rs 1,500 on Monday in the month of Sravana,” said chief executive officer Sunil Kumar Verma in a press statement. In normal days, one ticket costs Rs 350 for attending mangala aarti, he said.

Likewise, rate of one ticket is Rs 200 for attending madhyanh bhog aarti, saptarishi aarti, ratri srigar/bhog aarti. “Devotee will have to pay Rs 700 for performing rudrabhish­ek by one shasrti and Rs 2,100 will be charged by five shashtris,” he said.

For feeding sanyasis on Monday in Sravan, the charge is Rs 7,500.

Rs 15,000 will be charged for sringar of Baba Kashi Vishwanath on Monday while Rs 3,700 will be charged for purnima sringar, Rs 700 for akhanddeep and Rs 25,000 for 20-year rudrabhish­ek, Verma said.

According to the list, price of a ticket for sugam darshan is Rs 500 on normal days and Rs 750 on Monday in Sravan.

According to the list, Rs 1 lakh is the new rate for mahamrityu­njay jaap (chanting of mahamrityu­njay mantra by 32 shastri for a day) and Rs 51,000 by seven shashtris for five days in Kashi Vishwanath Temple.

The first Monday of Sravan month will fall on July 26, second on August 2, third on August 9 and fourth on August 16.

Sringar of Lord Shiva, sringar of Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati will be done on first and second Monday, respective­ly. Likewise, on third Monday, sringar of ardhnarish­war and sringar of Baba Kashi Vishwanath with rudraksh will be done on third and fourth Monday.

Jhula sringar of moving image of Lord Shiva-Parvati and Ganesh will be done on August 22.
