PRAYAGRAJ: Kaushambi police on Monday night arrested three persons in connection with the alleged abduction and gangrape of a Dalit woman a few days back.

The victim alleged that she was abducted in an SUV and was gangraped by the accused who were harassing her since long. A case under gangrape, issuing threat and SC/ST acts had been lodged, police said.

In her complaint, the 35-year-old woman alleged that she took an auto to visit her relatives in Fatehpur on August 24. The auto left her at Nara crossing under Mohabbatpur Painsa police station where she was waiting for another conveyance.

At around 6 pm, three youths in an SUV, whom the woman identified as Ritik Singh Patel, Deepu Singh and Akash Tiwari, reached there and abducted her. The trio took the woman to a private school building where they gangraped her.

They left the woman at the spot and fled while issuing threats. The woman somehow reached her home but kept mum out of fear.

However, the accused again reached her house in an inebriated state on August 26 asking her to accompany them. But they left the spot when the woman protested. On Monday, the woman reached Mohabbatpur Painsa police station and lodged an FIR against the accused.
