PRAYAGRAJ: The Khuldabad police have lodged an FIR against a youth for allegedly producing fake educational documents to ensure the release of a minor girl from the women’s shelter home.

The fraud came to light when shelter home authorities verified the documents. The youth had shown the girl’s age as above 18 years in her forged mark sheet.

The minor girl was abducted on December 5, 2018, by one Hasnain of Rampur village under Industrial Area police station.

On the complaint of girl’s mother, an FIR was lodged against Hasnain, his mother Anjuman and one Guddu at Koraon police station. Police team later traced the duo in Delhi and arrested Hasnain, who claimed that he had married the girl.

However, the girl’s parents claimed that she was only 14 years old, and she could not be married.

The court sent the rescued girl to the women’s shelter home. Meanwhile, Hasnain started making efforts to get her released from the shelter home while claiming to be her husband.

He allegedly forged documents, including a mark sheet and transfer certificate of class eight, claiming that the girl had attained the age of majority and she should be released.

The shelter home authorities sent the mark sheet and transfer certificate of Savitri Devi Junior High School in Karchhana to BSA office for verification. The verification process revealed that the girl never studied at the school.

Child Welfare Committee chairperson Akhilesh Mishra said “The girl has not been released and is still being kept at the shelter home. A case of fraud and other relevant sections of IPC have now been registered against Hasnanin at Khuldabad police station.”
