Prez Kovind to lay foundation stones at Allahabad HC today

Union law and justice minister Kiren Rijiju, Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, governor Anandiben Patel and CM Yogi Adityanath will also attend the function, officials said

PRAYAGRAJ : All preparatio­ns are complete for President Ramnath Kovind’s visit to the Sangam city on Saturday. The President would attend a function in the Allahabad high court where he would lay the foundation stones of a building for lawyers’ chambers, a multi-level parking facility and the proposed new law university to come up at Jhalwa. Union law and justice minister Kiren Rijiju, CJI NV Ramana, UP Governor Anandiben Patel and UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath would also attend the function, informed officials.

Governor Anandiben Patel and chief minister Yogi Adityanath along with Union law and justice minister Kiren Rijiju and CJI NV Ramana will arrive at Bamrauli airport at around 10.30am and welcome the President who is scheduled to arrive at around 10.40am.

Governor Anandiben Patel and chief minister Yogi Adityanath along with Union law and justice minister Kiren Rijiju and Chief Justice of India (CJI) NV Ramana will arrive at Bamrauli airport at around 10.30am and welcome the President who is scheduled to arrive at around 10.40am

From the airport, the President would then go to the Polo

Ground in an Army chopper and proceed to the circuit house.

After a brief stay, the President would then go to the Allahabad high court for the foundation stone laying function.

After the function, the President will go back to the Circuit House for a brief halt and then visit former governor of West Bengal Keshari Nath Tripathi’s residence. CM Yogi Adityanath is also expected to be present there.

ADM city AK Kanaujia said, “As per the protocol received, the President will be in Praaygraj for six hours and all preparatio­ns for the visit are now complete. The President will visit Tripathi’s residence for half-an-hour.”

At around 4.30pm, the President is scheduled to leave for Bamrauli airport in an army chopper from Polo Ground while the UP Governor and the CM would leave for Lucknow.

As part of the preparatio­ns, all roads falling in the Presidents’ possible travel route have been decked up.

The rough patches and pits have been repaired and a fresh coat of paint has been applied on the road dividers.

Friday saw a dry run of the Presidenti­al cavalcade travelling the routes to be taken by him and members of the security team sanitising the sites which the President will visit oor pass through.
