Exam body clerk nabbed for colluding with solver gang

PRAYAGRAJ : UP STF nabbed a clerk of Exam Regulatory Authority, Prayagraj, on charges of aiding and abetting solver gangs involved in cheating during trained graduate teachers (TGT) / post-graduate teachers (PGT) recruitments and Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) by producing fake documents. The accused, Narendra Kanaujia of village Chakdevra-ka-Kanaila under Naini police station was arrested near Civil Lines bus stand late Friday night, informed STF officials.
CO STF Pramesh Kumar Shukla informed that as part of an ongoing crackdown against solver gangs involved in getting individuals recruited as teachers based on fake documents, managing exam centres for facilitating the use of unfair means, to entering into a nexus with firms engaged in exam result preparations and getting candidates illegally qualified in the TGT/PGT recruitments and TET exams, three persons of a gang, including its leader, were nabbed by STF on Friday. The gang leader had worked as a teacher at a junior high school, while one of the cohorts was presently employed as a primary school teacher.
During investigation and interrogation of those nabbed, it emerged that the gang had some staff of Exam Regulatory Authority, Prayagraj, working hand in glove with them, the CO said.
Getting information that a clerk of the Exam Regulatory Authority, Kanaujia was working for the gang and would be visiting the Civil Lines bus station in a bid to flee the city, a team laid in wait and managed to arrest him at around 12:45 am on Saturday.
During his interrogation, Narendra informed STF that he was working for one Ram Niwas.
After getting information that Niwas had been nabbed by STF, Narendra was trying to flee the city to evade arrest. Narendra also confessed that he used to get Rs 50,000 per candidate to ensure their illegal selection, the CO added.
