Will set up mini-industrial clusters in hills if elected, says Samajwadi Party
HARIDWAR: To lure voters ahead of assembly election, the Samajwadi Party has announced that it will open mini-industrial clusters in all the hill districts to cater to employment and development aspects, if voted to power in the state.
Announcing this on Friday, Samajwadi Party state president Satya Narayan Sachan said unemployment, migration from hills and lack of development are still visible in nearly 10 hill districts of the state despite two decades of separate statehood.
“Why are industrial clusters like SIIDCUL only in plain region areas like Dehradun, Haridwar and US Nagar. If development has ushered in these areas due to industrial hubs why not they be established in hill districts also”, he said. He said if voted to power, the Samajwadi party will establish mini industrial clusters in hill districts also.
He said the party will majorly focus on agriculture, irrigation, health, renewable energy sector, consolidated land pattern, dairy, poultry, animal husbandry and reservation for Other Backward Classes in the hill districts.
Saying the Samajwadi Party will contest all the 70 assembly seats in 2022 elections, Sachan said the party is open to forging an alliance with like-minded parties in the state to ensure BJP doesn’t retain power in the state.
He also dubbed Aam Aadmi Party as a hidden hand of the BJP, saying banking on Arvind Kejriwal’s Delhi model of governance won’t have much impact on voters of Uttarakhand.
BJP district general secretary Vikas Tiwari said for the past two decades since Uttarakhand came into existence, the SP has not won a single seat. “So, first it should open its tally then make tall claims and big announcements,” said the BJP leader.
