Students encouraged to do research, innovations in defence sector
VARANASI: A high-level team of technology development fundDefence Research and Development Organisation (TDF-DRDO) and officials of Zone Startups at Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE), visited Atal Incubation Centre at BHU on Monday.
The team members encouraged the youths to come up with innovations in defence sector.
Director Nidhi Bansal, additional director Arjun Kumar from TDF-DRDO and Hemant Gupta and Vikrant Potnis from the BSE Zone Startups attended the program at the BHU’s Atal Incubation Centre.
This centre was established by the Institute of Management, BHU under the aegis of Atal Innovation Mission Scheme of NITI Aayog, to provide assistance to entrepreneurs in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.
The program started with the welcome address by Prof Sujit Kumar Dubey, director of the institute of management studies, BHU and Atal Incubation Centre. Prof Dubey apprised the guests of various institutes, faculties at BHU and briefly informed about the research activities at the university.
Additional director Arjun Kumar explained about the TDF scheme set up by DRDO.
Nidhi Bansal spoke about the opportunities available in the field of defence research and discussed about developing new technologies for making the country self-reliant in the defence sector with the joint co-operation of BHU and DRDO and encouraged entrepreneurs to come forward and contribute. Bansal discussed in detail about the options of assistance available in TDF.
Principals and researchers of various departments of BHU, Dr Gopal Nath from the department of microbiology of the institute of medical science and Dr Seripalla Sai Krishna from the Institute of Science were also present.
Earlier, the team of TDFDRDO and officials of BSE, Zone Startups also visited various laboratories at BHU. The team also visited the hydrogen energy laboratory at the department of physics and the Saathi Centre situated at the Central Discovery Centre.
